Leopard

Leopard

Size: 48.4 × 86.6 inches
Medium: Hand-cut vegan leather (PU) cutouts mounted on PU

Twisted and sculptural, the leopard’s form is the most sinuous of the series. Pattern and posture merge, giving the figure a sense of motion even in stillness.

The Feline Series honours the quiet authority, strength, and grace of the great cats through restraint rather than excess. Created using hand- cut vegan leather, the works rely on minimal lines and intentional negative space, allowing form to emerge through absence. As a vegan artist, the choice to avoid animal leather is rooted in care for animals, while also achieving a surface that reads as metallic, tactile, and quietly opulent. Installed within a curved atrium, the works encircle the space in a slow, deliberate rhythm. Their arched placement transforms the architecture into a continuous panorama, where the figures appear to move with the curve of the room rather than sit against it. Though protected by toughened glass, the uneven texture of the cut surface draws viewers in; many instinctively reach out, sensing that the material holds more depth than it first reveals. Cutout work demands precision. Each figure is revealed gradually through carefully considered voids, making the act of subtraction central to the final image. The process is slow, deliberate, and exacting- allowing the animal’s presence to assert itself with clarity and calm. View full details
